Holidays in the NICU

“Brooks was born at 31 weeks after my water broke 3 days earlier.

We were hoping to get him to 34 weeks, but he had other plans!

We knew he’d be going to the NICU, but had no idea what to expect. Our NICU team were absolute angels and walked us through every step from intubation in the delivery room, umbilical and PICC lines, feeding tubes to diaper changes and bath time. It was some of the scariest times of our lives, but each little step forward seemed like such a victory.

Our almost 8 weeks in NICU spanned Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day, but we made beautiful memories and left the NICU with a new found love and appreciation for those who care for our little fighters.
